Collaborative scientific research is needed: In March 2018, GSR, MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), UCSD (University of California - San Diego), ISA (International Seabed Authority) and USGS (US Geological Survey) collaborated on a joint expedition from San Diego, USA. The purpose of the mission was to calibrate existing theoretical hydrodynamic models on plume formation of return water from a future mining vessel. GSR has been working together with the most renowned scientific institutes for many years to show that seabed mining can be done responsibly. The following article was published in Scientific American.
